About The Laser for Hair Growth
What is it?
Did you know that 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women in America suffer from hair loss? Hair loss issues can have a harmful effect on people’s self esteem, men included. The Institute for Women’s Health is the first and only local practice to offer the Sunetics Laser Hair Growth Therapy at their Sonterra office in the north central area. This FDA-cleared unit uses state-of-the-art technology to make hair grow in an easy, pain-free, convenient way for both men and women.
How does it work?
The non-invasive laser targets the hair follicles on a cellular level, stimulating the weakened follicles so they can regrow. The low-level laser therapy works on a wavelength clinically proven to stop hair loss and regrow hair by dispersing each laser beam so that the entire scalp is saturated with laser energy. The end result is the reversal of hair loss and thicker, healthier new hair.
What does it require?
Each treatment lasts 30 minutes, and patients are welcome to use their phone, computer or other electronic device while sitting under the laser.
Patients will comfortably sit in a chair, while the unit’s arm is extended out and placed over their head to begin treatment. The low-level laser is also known as ‘Cool Laser,’ and it is so safe that goggles are not required during therapy.
Treatments span one year, divided into 3 phases. Patients must visit twice a week for the first 12 weeks, once a week during the second 12 weeks, and only twice a month in the last 6 months. Physicians highly recommend that patients commit to the entire year for optimal results.
