Nurse Practitioners or Certified Nurse Midwives 

Clinical/Provider Responsibility: Assures the ongoing delivery of optimal patient care in collaboration with physicians.

Management of Adult/Adolescent Care and Prevention of Diseases

  • Initiates health screening and triage using systematic assessment of patients’ health status through medical history, physical exam, and laboratory and screening tests
  • Formulates data-based plan of action

Management of Chronic and Acute Minor Illness                           

  • Application of systematic data collection relevant to the specific disease process, diagnosis and treatment
  • Appropriate protocols or guidelines of care, including laboratory tests
  • Consultation with physicians as needed

Routine Gynecological and Pre-Natal Care                                                                        

  • Applies knowledge of reproductive physiology and understanding of normal growth and development to pre-natal instruction
  • Applies systematic assessment of health status and medical history with particular attention to gynecological and obstetrical history
  • Conducts physical exam with determination of “dates and size”
  • Post-partum care and administration of contraception as desired
  • Thorough family planning counseling regarding use of specific method advantages, disadvantages and failure rate
  • Records concise plans for follow-up

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife program
  • Active license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Certified Nurse Midwife in Texas, with a license in good standing
  • Two years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife in physician-based OB/GYN practice
  • Working knowledge of, and experience using, an EMR/EHR is desired

PSR I Appointment Scheduler – Full-time (New!)

Locations/Hours:

Downtown-McCullough; 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. M – F, some late evenings and Saturday hours

Administrative Office; 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. M – F

Medical Center Tower II; 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. M – F, some late evenings and Saturday hours

Minimum one year of experience in an appointment scheduling position, preferably in a medical practice setting. Must be able to type 30 wpm and have intermediate-level knowledge and use of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, etc.

  • Schedules appointments for patients either by phone or after an office visit. Reschedules patients as needed or requested.
  • Uses manual/computerized system to match physician/clinician availability with patient’s preferences in terms of date and time
  • Registers new patients obtaining all necessary information.  Refers patient to the Patient Portal.
  • Enrolls patients in the Patient Portal through NextGen computer system
  • Maintains scheduling system so records are accurate and complete
  • Ensures updates (e.g., cancellations or additions) are put into the master schedule on a daily basis
  • Communicates as needed with physicians/clinicians and staff about any patient concerns or issues related to scheduling
  • Uses customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients calmly and pleasantly
  • Reviews and responds to telephone messages and emails on a daily basis

Registered Medical Assistant – Full-time (New!)

Hardy Oak; 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. M – F, some late evenings and Saturday hours

Medical Center Tower II; 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. M – F, some late evenings and Saturday hours

Medical Center Tower I; 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. M – F or flexible hours as early as 7:30 a.m. and as late as 6:30 p.m.

Metropolitan Professional Building; 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. M – F or flexible hours as early as 7:30 a.m. and as late as 6:30 p.m.

Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, at least one year of clinical experience required. Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution accepted, national certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred. Must be able to type 30 wpm.
