“The Physicians at Institute For Women’s Health are aware of the controversy in the public media surrounding the use of Hormone Replacement Therapy and Estrogen Replacement Therapy (HRT/ERT). If you are taking HRT/ERT and are concerned, we recommend you make an appointment to be seen at your earliest convenience. You should continue to take your HRT/ERT until your appointment with your physician.
The use of Hormone Replacement Therapy or Estrogen Replacement Therapy can help alleviate many symptoms caused by menopause such as: Hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, sleep disturbances, and skin changes. As with any medication it is best to dicuss the benefits, risks, and alternatives with your physician.
If you are concerned and want to discontinue you HRT/ERT prior to your appointment with your physician, you may do so. This may result in some side effects that include hot flashes, dizziness, insomnia, vaginal bleeding or vaginal dryness.
We are always here for you and are concerned about your well-being, and we are ready to assist you in any way possible to ease your apprehension.”

Please contact our office if you have any questions.
